Hypertension

hypertention Between 10 and 25% of people in the United States are diagnosed with hypertension, or high blood pressure, a serious concern because it can cause stroke, hypertensive heart disease, and damage to the eyes. Medication is the main treatment for most hypertension, and is highly effective in lowering blood pressure for many people.

However, between 3 and 8 percent of hypertension is caused by a condition known as renal artery stenosis, or RAS, which can be effectively treated through interventional radiology. To find out more, please click on renal artery stenosis.
